So recently I bought a good monitor to edit my photos on. Its a DoubleSight 26" LCD. I had never heard of the brand before, but after doing my research I went ahead and got it. It is an H-IPS monitor, which means it has really good color and viewing angles. It has an LG panel which is the same as NEC monitors that cost twice as much, and it also includes a polarizer which keeps the "white glow" effect which is a characteristic of many IPS panels to a minimum. Amazingly it also has low lag and a fast response time for an IPS panel. COD4, Halo 3 and GTA4 all play great, actually better than my old LCD HDTV which used a TN panel. I used a Spyder2 Express to calibrate it and my MBP using the dual calibration hack, since the software on the express version doesn't allow two profiles to be set up at a time. The higher resolution, larger screen and more accurate colors has really opened up my eyes when it comes to correct color balancing in digital photography and it has really helped me to speed up my work flow. So there is my mini-review for the day. I just think its a really good deal at a touch under 7 bills and am blown away by what it can do. If you're in the market for a good monitor to edit photos on, i highly recommend this one.
I miss my girlfriend. Only 4 more days!!
